Professional Digital Printing is most suited to shorter run print jobs where origination is produced from desktop publishing or other digital sources and printed using high volume Laser printers.

Digital printing has a higher cost per page than more traditional offset litho printing methods but particularly on shorter runs this price is usually more than offset by the cost saving in avoiding the need to make printing plates and the time taken to make ready large printing presses.

On Demand printing, with very short job turn around, and even a modification of the image (variable data) on every page is now possible. The savings in labor and ever increasing capability of digital presses means digital printing is reaching a point where it will match offset printing technology's ability to produce larger print runs at a low price.
